New Freewebs Coding Sample
I just had a bit of a breakthrough with a test site, and I can now do dynamic full site coding for freewebs sites. I decided to try out something called Ajax Inclusion. It is similar to what I do with php-enabled sites. It's not quite as good as the php scripts, but it's way better than iframes!
Here is the Freewebs Coding Sample I made to show the proof of concept. The design is nothing fancy, just a very simple layout, but it shows the coding technique.
Why Ajax is better than iFrames
1. It is cleaner and neater
2. You don't have to specify a size and worry about lots of extra scrollbars
3. Makes styling more consistent - it works better with CSS because you don't have to enter style on each page, all the pages included will get styled to match
4. No worrying about having to target outside links or other sites getting trapped in your frames
5. You don't have to mess with the layout at all to edit your site, even the menu. You just edit the file seperately.
6. iFrames are SO 10 years ago!
